Parking During the 2006 Law School
Convocation Weekend

General Parking: [return to top]

Parking permits are required Monday-Friday on the University campus. Please stop at an information booth at each entrance to campus to pay for and pick up a visitor parking permit.

Saturday and Sunday there is open parking in most, but not all, spaces. Please pay close attention to signage.

For Saturday's Open House, there is parking behind the Law School and in the lots directly below.

Sunday's Ceremony:
Bartels Hall is right next to Lynah Rink (the ice hockey rink) and directly in front of the athletic fields. For Sunday's ceremony, there is ample parking around Bartels Hall in either the "C" parking area (also sometimes referred to as "Kite Hill") or in the Parking Garage. . If your back is to Bartels Hall--it is the parking area directly across the street from the field house and to the left of the football stadium. The parking garage is to the right of the stadium. The parking area to the right when facing Bartels will be set aside for mobility impaired parking.

Mobility Impaired Parking: [return to top]

In order to park in designated "handicapped" parking spaces during Convocation weekend (Saturday and/or Sunday) you need a state issued permit or handicap symbol on your license plate. If you do not have either one, you need to contact Transportation Services at 607-255-4600 and mention the "Law School Convocation" to obtain the necessary permit. If, however, you will be on campus Thursday and/or Friday, you need to arrange for a Cornell-issued handicap parking permit in addition to the state-issued permit-please follow same instructions above. This must be finalized no later than Wednesday, May 3rd.

Generally, if someone in your car needs assistance, it will be easy to drop them off in front of Bartels Hall while the driver parks. In addition, there is a small parking lot right of Bartels Hall reserved specifically for mobility impaired parking. You do not need a state issued permit or symbol on your license plate to park in this area. However, the lot will be monitered by a life-safety officer so that those that really need to park in that area will be assured of a space.
